Lab 1

This map was acquired from a website named sitesatlas. This map shows Mexico as a whole with parts of central America to the South and parts of the United States to the North. This map is interesting because it lists basically all of the major cities of Mexico along with the ones in Guatemala, Honduras, Belize, and southern America. It also shows all of the major highways of Mexico. Longitudal and Latitudinal lines are available for reference. Many things were necessary in the creation of this map. All major cities in Mexico are listed along with the highways leading to them. Mexico City, the capital, is highlighted with a red dot.

This map of the United States was retrieved from a website named mapofusa.net. This map outlines the 48 contigious states that are a part of the United States of America. States are colored differently to show borders I believe. I find this map interesting because even after years of studying it and living in America, I and many people in my generation, still know nothing about this map. Tons of data was necessary to create this map; specific borders, rivers, capital cities, even major interstate highways are shown on this map.

This map was acquired from a website named Brazil International. This is a map of the country of Brazil and its different provinces as of 2010. I found this map interesting simply because  I had no idea there were so many different provinces located in Brazil. We typically hear about Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro, or sometimes even Rio Grande, but even after the popularity explosion of Brazil in the 21st century, we still have yet to hear about any of the other provinces. One particular province that I'm most interested in are the Amazonas. The only thing required for this map are the different provinces of Brazil as well as which ones are considered North, Central, etc.
